LG LSM-100 : The Mouse that Scans

CES has been offering many new technologies to the consumers, there are a few that really grab ones attention. It doesn’t matter if it’s a small gadget or if it’s on a booth somewhere in the corner. LG revealed one such gadget, which although had been tried before but wasn’t so appealing as this one. They call it the ‘LSM-100′ and it’s a mouse that can scan documents while on the move.

The LG LSM-100 scanner mouse is compatible with both Windows and Mac and the software that comes along is pretty simple to use. The mouse has a clear glass/plastic sheet as its contact surface and uses five LEDs to reflect the image using a mirror inside for the camera to see.

Once on your desktop, you can use the software’s simple scan button to start the process and it will show you the scanned area. It has proper mouse buttons as well, a scroll wheel, left and right and back clicks. The software also lets you edit the scanned images and share it on the internet. Engadget got  hands-on with the LG mouse, and according to them the mouse is very easy to use, even the scan feature and is quite practical.
